Layout tours, clinics, Model Contest, vendors, and fun
The Chicago O Scale Meet is a 3 day gathering of vendors, customers, clinics, and fun held annually in March in the Chicagoland area. Hundreds gather to buy, sell, and trade their products to the public. This is the Chicago O Scale train show you've heard of. Anything the O Scale enthusiast could want to find and buy will be found here.
The 2010 show will be held in a new location, the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard, Illinois. Our show has been held at the Sheraton in Arlington Heights, IL, for the past twenty years. The Sheraton has served us well but we have long desired to move our show to a hotel that would allow all of our vendors to be on the same floor in an area of Chicagoland that was more centrally located. After lots of searching we've found a hotel that exceeds all of our expectations. The Westin is an ideal location, just twelve miles southwest of O'Hare International Airport in the heart of the Lombard/Oak Brook business and shopping corridor. The hotel offers complimentary shuttles around town and to/from area train stations. The hotel is located across the parking lot from the Yorktown shopping mall and boasts 250 restaraunts within a three mile radius. Rooms are available at $89.00/night if reserved under the Chicago O Scale Meet room block. You can check out their website at www.westinlombard.com or call thier reservation line at 1-800-937-8461 to reserve you room today.
Send in your registration forms now as table space for vendors is limited and most registered for the 2010 show before they even left the '09 show. Click on the tab to the left marked "Registration" to attend the show or reserve tables. Tables are $45.00 each/ 6ft in length if reserved by 1-31-10, and $55.00 each if reserved after that date.
In addition to unparalled product offerings in the O Scale and collectable train world, there will be lots to see and do at the 2010 Chicago O Scale Meet. As always, there will be a Model Contest complete with cash prizes, informational and hands-on clinics where train hobbiests can learn new skills and see what's new on the market. There are also numerous O Scale layout tours available every year where you can view some of the best working layouts out there, get tips from the masters and inspiration for your own layouts.
While this is a dedicated 2 rail O Scale show, we welcome the many modelers and collectors from the 3 rail O guage hobby that attend it. They find a variety of trains and related items for display and combined operations for their railroads.
