The city of Lombard is conveniently located in the western suburbs of Chicagoland. There is no downtown Chicago driving to contend with. Most guests will take Interstate 294 to bypass the city, and can then pick up Interstate 88 west. This takes you to Lombard. Take the Highland Avenue exit, proceed through the toll booth at the exit, and turn onto Highland Avenue. Merge right onto Route 56 east, then turn left into the Yorktown Shopping Center. Follow the road around to the back of the shopping center as the Westin shares a parking lot with it. There is parking out front of the hotel as well as a free parking ramp behind the hotel. BY TRAIN Guests arriving by Amtrak can reach the hotel using one of the two following Metra Lines: BNSF West Line: Trains depart from the South Concourse of Amtrak’s Union Station. The Hiawatha and Empire Builder arrive and depart from the NORTH Concourse. All other Amtrak trains use the same South Concourse as the Metra BNSF line trains. Downers Grove Stop (934 Burlington Ave) is the destination station for Hotel Shuttle pick up. Union Pacific West Line: Trains depart from the Ogilvie Transportation Center, located across the street from Union Station. Easy access is to walk toward the end of the Union Station Platforms on the North Concourse to stairs that take you to street level. Cross the street and you’re at Ogilvie. Lombard Stop (20 S Main St) is the destination station for the Hotel Shuttle pick up. Guests need to schedule pick up, prior to arrival at either stop, with the Hotel Bell Stand at 630-719-8000. Shuttles run every 30 minutes. Both Metra stops are less than 5 miles from the hotel, so wait times should be short. |
PACKAGES Many vendors choose to ship packages of merchandise to the hotel ahead of time. The Hotel will receive your package, hold it for you, and give it to you upon your request. If you wish to do this, simply write the Hotel’s address on the box as the major recipient, with your name underneath. Then somewhere clearly marked you must also add the name of the show (March O Scale Meet) the date of the show, the March O Scale Meet contact for the hotel (Adam Schafer) and the Hotel’s convention coordinator (Ashley Lanorgese). This information is used as a back-up to ensure that your package is handled appropriately. Packages can be received up to three days before the meet. If it is received earlier it may be subject to storage fees. FedEx (801 E. Butterfield Rd Suite 104) and UPS (444 E. Roosevelt Road, Lombard, IL) stores are located near the hotel if packaging supplies are needed. Hotel package handling fees: 6-20 pounds: $12.00 21-50 pounds: $18.00 51+ pounds: $30.00 Pallets & Crates: $90.00 FedEX and UPS The Hotel is also able to send out boxes from the hotel for guests who have bought more than they can carry and need to ship their new treasures home! They offer daily pick-ups from both FedEx and UPS. Guests must provide shipping labels and packaging. Boxes must be ready to ship with proper labeling before the hotel will collect. PARKING There is parking in front of the hotel but this tends to fill up quickly. We recommend that our guests park in the free parking garage behind the hotel instead. It’s covered, secure, and complimentary. DINING There are two restaurants located within the Westin, Harray Carrays and Holy Mackeral! Both are open for lunch and dinner and Holy Maceral! offers breakfast as well. Both are sit-down dining and tend to be a little higher priced. For guests who wish to find more moderately priced dining options there are literally 250 restaurants within a 3-mile radius of the hotel with something to fit every budget, some within walking distance. There is also a free shuttle from the hotel that can take guests to and from the restaraunt of their choice. |
